Indiana State License Information

All barbers and stylists must be licensed by the Indiana State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners. Select the license type that applies to your situation:

Indiana Licensed Barber

Standard license for those who completed 1,500 hours at an approved Indiana barber school and passed exams.

Barber - By Reciprocity

For barbers licensed in another jurisdiction seeking Indiana license.

Provisional Barber

For individuals from non-licensing jurisdictions, allows practice under supervision.

Barber - By Upgrade

For those who already hold an Indiana barber license and want to upgrade (for example, from provisional to full professional license).
